My verbena that has a lateral growth, can't think of its proper name, is really looking lovely at present. not sure how long it will last but I'm making the most of it.:)

We already have snow. Early to us. This is a picture in front of the snow.

Yes, that is a beautiful cabbage, if that's what it is!

We had a tiny bit of snow a couple of weeks ago. Last year our first big snow was Nov 21 (I remember that date because I just shared video of my puppy's first snow last year!)

Last night a hard freeze finally knocked out the remaining plants. Tomorrow I'm raking (more) leaves, trimming back perennials and asparagus, and pulling up all the annuals and vegetables. Time to put the garden to bed for winter!

i actually read about this American Honeysuckle on this forum. it does have a lovely fragrance as promised and a very pretty flower:). Very happy with it so thanks to the collective forum knowledge . One forum buddy had it growing around their verandah and i think I will that too. I will try to get a cutting from this one. pretty surevthat should work.

We are a little messy over here due to three days of PH adjustments, emergency resuscitation, and spreading manure... So. Much. Manure. BUT we are on the way to greatness, I tell ya! The long term goal is to actually turn a profit from this yard one day. For now it's just a hobby-turned-full-time-job because my husband knows no such thing as 'moderation'

Ha, good winter shot JB!
This time of year is uninspiring indeed...unless it snows. Endless cloudy, dreary, sub-freezing days. Too cold to even walk dogs this weekend. :(

I'm inside with chicken soup on the crock pot, watching the birds at my feeder and looking through online seed catalogs!
