First 10 tomatoes dried well in the decimator, so put another 10 in :)

They taste fantastic :)

Great thread! I think I might have landed on it a few times during my frantic google research when I first became aware of the infestation.

I discovered Sluggo, finally! It stopped the slugs dead in their slimy little tracks (plus, it's organic and kills nothing but slugs and snails).

Now we have rabbits. o_O Did some fencing with what I had on hand but they decimated the collards and chard. :( I think rabbits, anyway.

I pulled up several handfuls of creeping charlie; it's become part of my morning routine. Acting on @MaryMary 's advice, I'm selectively pulling creeping charlie and letting wild violets and clover alone, hoping they will take over and crowd out cc.

Planted roma tomatoes and some sort of mini bell/sweet pepper. We don't often get enough sun to grow good peppers here but I'm hoping a faster growing variety will do well. So the vegetables are all planted, I just need to finish mulching.

Got my "Florida" variegated banana in the ground finally.

Had to build a little make shift trellis for my melons. Looks pretty horrible, but it's sturdy and was quick and easy. Looks like it's setting fruit too! Gotta get some panty hose!

I mixed up some soil to transplant a couple of Papaya trees (not really a tree but a forb, but looks like a palm but is called a tree, no tap root, but some folks on the internet give it one anyway

). They are fussy about what they eat and want 50% rich compost and the other 50% various to provide for good drainage. I read 5 different articles on how to grow Papaya and each article gave conflicting info. What are you going to do?

in 10 months i am told i will have fruit, that's nice, but i am really growing them to provide shade. I plan to keep them at 10 ft (3m). The first two i transplanted are in containers to see where i can best locate them for optimal shade. I might keep them in containers and move them around. Don't know, yet. With a shallow root system, they transplanted nicely. Grown from seed.

I just got done adding about 50 sq. ft. to my native garden.

I built a new shed last month and decided to put a small garden around it. It's in a mostly-shady part of the yard so I don't have many plants to add just yet, but it'll get there eventually. First thing I'm adding is Common Blue Violet. After that, I may have to take a trip to the garden center and see if they have any good natives for shade.
