Hi,

Good on you Logan; there's nothing wrong in wearing an hat; I always wear my hat whilst outdoors; it helps to keep my solar panel dryish and on rare occasions the sun out of my eyes. ;)

Today is Rufforth Auto Jumble but I've given it a miss due to it being bitterly cold compounded by a strong breeze; instead I've suffered our garden where I'm attempting to build a low stone wall; I've just come indoors feeling perished so everything is normal; if it doesn't pour with rain I'll continue after dinner.

Kind regards, Colin.

Thank you Colin yes it's best not for to go if you don't really need to.

Been sunshine and showers all afternoon, cold this morning with a brisk wind.

Good luck with your stone wall maybe that's the way forward with your dry soil, it should help the run off.

Hi,

Thanks Logan. It's been a strange day today; it was bitterly cold in the breeze this morning as I carried stones around; then our neighbour came out to cut his lawn and thanked me for dropping off three bags of logs for his woodburner; he said he was having trouble with his electrics tripping out; I do all our own electrics but never for anyone else; I did however offer to loan him my socket tester which tests about 17 different things just by plugging it into a socket and switching the power on; this meant another trip to the workshop then back up the garden to hand him the tester; he returned the tester with a big box of biscuits as a thank you this afternoon but I was soaking in a hot bath so I don't know if he isolated the problem; my tester isn't one of the cheap ones but I would have felt mean had I not offered him the loan of it after all for a home workshop one of these testers will get very little use.

I visited Wickes this afternoon to buy cement; paving flags and aggregate; back home I carted the flags up to the hut by which time enough for one day hence the hot bath; tomorrow if it doesn't snow I'll have another go at building the small wall now everything is ready. Days used to fly by at work but now in retirement it's years which fly by. I'm never bored.

Kind regards, Colin.

Dry all day
Sunrise was 5.30
Sunset 20.40
Have a good day all

Colin that was good of you to help your neighbour like that, I hope that you don't have snow.
I hope that you had a nice bath, not aloud to have baths in this house has to be showers. Hubby thinks that it takes too much heated water.

Hi,

8C here at the moment but cooler earlier on when I wandered up the garden; I've just created a small path and done lots of hoeing; I'm creating a couple of areas of meadow flowers; the area at the top of the garden the plants are now taking off; I've planted other things in the same area so have been hoeing around these before the meadow flowers take over; I've enjoyed this session in the garden but Blackie will be here again shortly putting down more rain. Things are at last coming together; I applied lawn feed and weed and Blackie has done a good job watering this in; the grass is already looking better. :)

Kind regards, Colin.

Hi,

Thanks Logan; I'm sure Blackie's sister will save you using your hosepipe; I can also recommend his other sister Gale who is useful for drying washing hanging outside on a line but the danger is she becomes a bit erratic and tends to blow washing and everything else away. It's a muddy paw day for you today. :D

It feels really cold here this morning; Bron's put the gas fire on to give the central heating a boost but then we're only into the fair month of May. The rain is still coming down so Blackie is on top form and it's the usual black hole.

On 31st April I ordered 25kg of bird peanuts having bought these many times with quick delivery; they finally arrived yesterday the label stating 24 hour delivery; shortly after they arrived I received an email apology from the supplier stating they had been upgrading their computer ordering program but run into difficulties; because of this please accept our apologies and receive 20% off your next order using the code supplied.

On 1st May I ordered through eBay 4mm T&E cable having drilled both front and rear bungalow walls to accept outside double sockets; to date the cable still hasn't arrived.

Last week we set off to "The Range" in Barnsley; every vehicle was allowed through but we were stopped by the police because a group of cyclists were having a race causing untold disruption; we've never seen as many police motorcycles and cars also an helicopter above; we tried two detours but each time police motorcycles had blocked the streets; we were forced to wait until the police let us go by which time we abandoned our visit to The Range.

We've got to plan our journeys around school runs because it's a nightmare trying to drive up our lane; in front of the school is a very large grassed area but grass is more important than safety; huge wagons and busses are having to drive down the pavement; us too.

It never lets up and now we're already into May and I'm grounded regarding working outdoors because of our usual dire weather. I want to install the outside sockets and have the sockets and junction boxes etc but still no cable. It's not all doom and gloom though; the rain is bringing up the meadow flowers a treat. :)

Kind regards, Colin.
