These are my first tomatoes to start ripening, 'Sungold'. The size is slightly bigger than a cherry tomato. I didn't think any of my tomatoes would crop this year as the weather has held them back, they stalled three times before they got to this stage.

Most impressive. Those are real quality.

This is not a pristine year for tomatoes in my area. Even the field tomatoes are not ready for picking, I checked this morning on a few local farms.Only a few weeks until frost and they are just starting to ripen a few at a time. My production is way down, about one fifth of what I expect. The quality is good though, and I get enough for the table about 4 per day of mostly Black Krim.

Great yield! I've grown Sungolds, they're very sweet but also work well for salads and cooking.
Horrible year for tomatoes here as well, early blight and a ton of rain in June-July. Usually I am cooking, freezing and giving away tomatoes on a daily basis by now but I'm just getting scant bowlfuls every other day or so.

Gee, that's a lot of tomatoes and so nice to look at particularly the ripe ones. We normally do not let the tomatoes go ripe on the plant because the pests, particularly the borers would come for it and sometimes the birds as well. We usually harvest the green tomatoes that have a tint of red. Once we see some reddish portion in the tomatoes, we harvest it at once so we get ahead of the pests, hahahaaa.

They look great!:D And you have so many of them:D
I've never been a big fan of cherry tomatoes, but I'm sure I'd like Sungolds.

Beautiful tomatoes, good job! After seeing this picture I feel so inspired to do the same with cherry tomatoes, but I doubt the climate we have here allows me to harvest really sweet, juice and tasty tomatoes :( Thanks for sharing :) Your tomatoes look perfect! I bet you will have a really good harvest!

Thank you everyone for your compliments. :) I have to grow in a greenhouse as the tomatoes wouldn't survive outside, particularly this year having been so wet. Top temperature on the island during summer is usually around 73F/23C and that temperature isn't constant, a day here and there. This summer so far has been quite chilly, 64F/18C as an average. We don't have problems with tomato pests really but do have problems with diseases like botrytis and blight, those mostly attacking tomato plants grown outside.

They are 'Sungold' @CanadianLori.

@Durgan it must be difficult for you growing tomatoes in what is a short season compared with other countries. Do you grow inside and provide heat for your tomatoes?

In the OP he stated they were Sungold.

I'd like to point out this he is a she GardenStateGardner but it's not a problem, sometimes names aren't gender definable. :)

Can I ask where you are please @Trellum?

Some years are better than others, but this area Zone 5 is very much a tomato growing area. This year has been a bit cool, but has only retarded ripening with no diseases or bugs creating problems. Cool, wet weather can devastate a crop, but is rare. Probably one year in ten.

In this zone we can rely on June, July and August being frost free. Today I picked 27 pounds and so far for the season about 50 pounds. One year I got 500 pounds but the usual harvest is around 200 from around 40 plants.

I start the plants from seed about the end of February in my small greenhouse which can keep above freezing with some care, and plant out just before the first of June. All my tomatoes are vine ripened out doors.

I've also asked @Trellum where s/he lives before to no avail but I would love to know!

Durgan is the tomato king, 27 lbs from 40 plants in one day, wow. Well I have only 8 tomato plants this year and they are stumbling along despite major blight issues. I'm totally moving or avoiding nightshade plants for next year. However my greens and pole beans are going nuts. :)
