Anyone remember how long it takes these fellows to germinate? If my seeds are e no good, I'd like to not waste too much time waiting...

At the optimum soil temperature of 68F it should take no more than 10 days, but, 5-7 days is the norm. The cooler the soil the longer it takes and the lower the germination rate.

Last i saw of them at the weekend there were little bits of white poking thru the seeds

Looks like my seeds are no good. I moved the tray of soil blocks onto the countertop which is above the dishwasher last night so that it would get the heat from the washer. I might wait two more days and if no action, will buy new seeds. I won't be able to get kelsae seeds right away so will go with some other large type.

Ah no - I guess they should have shown some activity by now

Mine have just started to poke through the soil (but only 2 of the 12) - hopefully tomorrow I'll see a little more .

I made a bunch more soil blocks and started some spanish onion seeds. They don't sell the kelsae ones locally. I didn't throw out the old blocks... just in case ... Lori, ever optimistic...
