Oh it's fine to enter now, even if your posts aren't at 50 yet - it's at the time of the draw that it counts (which is months away). It's more to stop someone joining at the last second to enter, as it's fun to watch the progress in the thread .

The only important date is the 31st August, as long as there is a photo in by then, that's what counts . It's just good fun to see a bit of progression throughout.

• You have until 31st August to submit a photo of your sunflower, together with the measurement. When taking a photo of your sunflower you must make sure to write your Gardening Forums username on a piece of paper and feature it in the photo.

I'm in!! I bought two different types of seeds, and took 20 out of a bag of birdseed.

Cool! I might have a shot then. Plenty of sunflower seed infused bird poop in my side yard.

Let that part go wild a while! No need for mowing, no weed-whacking... Oh! But wait, there's more! I keep reading, and there's this:

Hmm, come to think of it, there is a nice pub right next to the garden center.
