Seed Exchange Rules:

• The Gardening Forums is not in any way responsible for any transactions resulting from this sub-forum. No exceptions.
• Members who qualify may post thread(s) offering seeds to trade and/or threads requesting seeds to be traded. Appropriate info on the seeds should be provided in each thread, e.g. age, condition, heirloom or other, etc.
• All arrangements for postal services are up to individual members and should be arranged by PM’s. No addresses should be posted on this sub-forum and they will be deleted if it is done.
• Members are cautioned to deal only with other trusted members…caveat emptor

I'd like to challenge the caveat of people using PO boxes.

We use a PO box for everything as it is secure and we don't have to worry about porch pirates and mailbox theft. Additionally, they accept mail from all delivery options including Amazon. It's also climate controlled so we don't have to worry about temperature issues with seeds and plants.

Regarding concerns re international exchanges...it would be up to each member to make arrangements.

Let me add, it can be done as I have received beans seeds from a generous friend gardener in UK who shall remain anonymous.

Be aware that seed saving is a skill of its own as I'm sure you know. It requires experience and knowledge to avoid cross breeding heirlooms so they remain true. Having good viable seed can also be a challenge for some vegetables such as winter squash.

Some vegetables are harder to prevent cross breeding than others. Corn is one example since it is wind pollinated and a farm downwind growing corn can easily hybridize your seed if it is a different variety. Squash, cucumbers, melons are another since they are pollinated by insects.

There are several folks here that I would trust good viable true seed from but then there are others who really don't know any better. If you're trading landrace seeds, then none of the above matters.

Over a few decades now I've been a member on many, many forums. Something I really miss is exchange
