It is wonderful to know that you paint, Larisa. I make various kinds of artworks myself, including paintings. They are not considered classics either. Maybe in the future. Is the painting on your profile avatar one of your paintings?
I'm glad to know that you're such a creative person. This is always a big plus in Karma.
Avatar is not my picture, but a good example of finding the balance of opposites.
I am far from being a good artist, but I just love to draw, stir oil paints, get different shades. I am more of a grateful spectator and listener.
Here is one of the paintings that makes me stop for a long time in front of the canvas in the art gallery.
Moonlit night on the Dnieper, Arkhip Kuindzhi, 1880.
Any photographic image does not convey the enchanting beauty of this picture.
In reality, this picture literally glows. The moon is shining and its reflection in the river. You always want to look behind the picture and see if there is a lantern there. But there is no lamp.
This painting has been a sensation since its inception.
Envious people said that Kuindzhi paints with "magic moon colors" from Japan.
In fact, Kuindzhi added chemical elements to paints. He was assisted by his friend, Dmitri Mendeleev, a famous chemist.
