@Klona You're right. I've just googled.. They self-fertilise.. so why do you need to hand-pollinate the plant then?

@alp Two flowers fell off after being there for a few days, when I googled it I read that the reason why that happened is because it might not have pollinated. That's why I'm trying hard.
I took pictures of the flowers. The camera flash made some pictures glittery.

alp....feel like I'm loosing it:eek:. Are they really Jacket spuds hanging in the tree!!!!!!.............if so may I ask ...why?(n).

Had a good day in my Dads garden. Hubs and I re-potted quite a few of his patio plants and attempted a kiss of life on several frail looking ones......fingers crossed that they pull through;)

Well ,I've lost my camera:eek::eek: I've been looking for it since Saturday now......grrrr I so hate not knowing where things go to. As a last resort I had hoped that I had left it at my Dads......sadly I hadn't. Really annoyed with myself and can't stop thinking of places it might be, can't 'switch off' when I go to bed either.:(:(:(.

On a brighter note going to see my Great Nephew tomorrow, have seen lots of pics but will be getting a cuddle:D:D...........but on a 'not so bright' note...........can't take any pics of my own:cry::cry:.

Why do things disappear when they are most needed :(.

Have a restful evening , other times of day are included too :)(y)

According to what I have learned - you should remove the bottom branches to reduce competition for food.. air and light

I try to remove the branches with no flowers regularly, but every time I do that 2 more branches pop out of no where. I've been eyeing the empty lower branches as well. I'm going to trim them and add more soil to the pot. I like that there are many leaves on top, they shield the rest of the plant from the intense heat, at least that's what I'm thinking.

I was supposed to click reply, but clicked Report instead ...:eek::eek: got quite a disturbing notice.. Haha!

I don't feel good about this lot of jacket potatoes.. They are air-layered branches, They might be too thin and the pouches too wet.. Difficult to tell. But hopefully, I will have 6 new plants the end of 8 weeks.

Oh, dear! Retrace your steps to see where you have been and where your camera could be.. I lost my keys all the times.. Hope you can find it soon.. Can't wait to see your flowers.. or your delivery by stork..

I think the heat in your country keeps you busy and on your toes.. Here they are still tiny.. I need to pot mine, but a cold snap is expected.. What a lousy year... Cold and even colder.. Make sure you fertilize in good time as the nutrients will have been depleted soon.

@alp Speaking of fertilizers, I bought two types of 'organic' fertilizer. Found pics of them:

I'm thinking of using the first one on the tomatoes and lemons. The second on the catnip and the peace lilies.

I'm no expert in tomatoes.. If the internet is not providing fake news.. I have found out the following

Fertilizing Tomatoes - Garden.org
https://garden.org/learn/articles/view/367/
Some gardeners prefer to use a complete fertilizer (such as 5-10-10 or 10-10-10). Organic fertilizers such as bone meal, dried manure or cottonseed meal are also good. Just remember that most organic fertilizers don't contain balanced amounts of the three major nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

So beware... Don't know the authority of this source..

Here when and where to fertlise

The roots of tomato plants are mainly found within the upper six inches of the soil. Tilling your fertilizer into the soil at this depth ensures that you do not waste fertilizer on soil where your tomatoes do not grow. Fertilizer applied at the beginning of the growing season does not provide enough nutrients to meet the full growth potential of your tomato plants throughout the year. The best time to apply subsequent doses of fertilizer is when the first crop of tomatoes reaches one-third of the fruits' full size and is still green. Applying a subsequent dose of fertilizer roughly two weeks after you harvest the first fruits and a third dose a month later ensures that your tomatoes can continue producing abundant fruit.

@alp I do not plan on using a lot anyway, but I'm not sure of the fertilizer dose I should be using for the first time. Do I spread like 3 table spoons in that tomato pot? I'm just hoping to experiment with this without killing the plant.

If you got a liquid, mix it with water, i wouldn't put it on the soil, look at instructions.
