Hehehe, what beautiful mental image, Claudine!!!! I guess moss is like a billion miniature trees growing for a small bacteria, for them it must be like a wild forest. I used to have an imagination like that as a kid. Great times :) Being a kid is always awesome!!
Yeah, me too, moss gives a lot personality to even the most dull places (aesthetically speaking of course)
Haha, I sometimes try to imagine what would the world look like if I was as tiny as bacterias:p I'm sure that my miniature roses would seem giant to me! And I would notice every little detail. I guess it would be kind of fun:p

Thanks, Jewell, for all the useful information. Ivy hedges sound like a really nice way to decorate our garden and hide the things we don't like of it. I was a bit surprised when I read your ivy was actually covering wire fences, I couldn't even tell!! It looks amazing :) I'll really get some ivy in the future, I'd love to cover most of the walls, mostly the outside. It's good to know the ivy is a bit slow tho.
Please note once established ivy can grow 6 feet (2 meters) in a season. :eek:Only it's first two years is it slow. After that watch out! I still love it for hedges and mulch though:D

That's good to know, I'll definitely have that in mind if I decide to get an ivy :) But is good they grow fast you know? So they hide the things we want to hide really quick, hehehe.

I used to imagine that kind of things as a kid :p I used to have such a vivid and wonderful imagination! I often went to my aunt's garden (this must have upset her) and cut some bits of her plants and pretend I was cooking something, lol. I can cook now for real!

Haha, I'm not sure what would I do if a kid tried to cook my miniature roses:LOL:. I know I'd be upset:p
When I was a child, I used to destroy all tulips in my aunt's garden, because I was looking for fairies. I thought that they hide among the blossoms:)

Oh nooo, we were garden destroyers! :ROFLMAO: I'm not surprised at all to be honest, most kids that age don't really care about plants or even think they're destroying them. Did you aunt get really mad about it? Mine didn't so much  I believed in fairies back then, hehe. Ever watched pan's labyrinth?

No, she wasn't very angry;)
I haven't watched Pan's Labyrinth yet. But I heard of it. Somebody told me that it's a scary movie, is it true?

This is a nice place, I like when everything is covered with moss:D:

That's a wonderful movie about a little girl who believed in fairies, it's a good mix between fantasy and every day realism, a bit crude at times. I really recommend it. It was produced by a Mexican director: Guillermo del Toro.

Amazing picture! I'd love to do that to my place, lol. I love to see things covered in moss!!!! So delightful  Check this one out:

Hehehe!!! What a pretty moss pillow! Where are we supposed to put that? Hehehe! You know what that moss close-up reminds me of? sprouts! When I'm sprouting some alfalfa or something like that it looks just like this!

Here are more lovely moss pics:

Hehehe, it seems we are both fans of sprouts! I had just posted a thread with a very recipe on how to make your own sprouts at home some minutes ago, then I saw you created a thread asking about our favorite sprouts  Not surprised, since great minds think alike (y)

Trellum - I just couldn't resist posting this absolutely gorgeous idea for using moss in a decorative way :)

Think this little cottage with its moss garden is just adorable and that it would be an irresistible sight to anyone - but even more so to someone like you - who would love to see moss and moss covered items around the garden :D

Am I right - do you find it as irresistible as I do ?

It's a fairy house, a beautiful fairy house!:D I love these heart-shaped, tiny windows. They're so pretty. Also, it's a really nice idea to put leaves on a roof.
I'm sure that fairies love sitting on the soft moss in front of their house:D:D
