Full day again of rain , got the mop chopped today my hair gets really curly when it starts getting long which drives me bananas, quite a lot of people comment on it how nice and curly it is usually from the older generation for some reason  .

Not sure what to do with myself tomorrow don't fancy going to the GC for a change, may verticut the lawn but that all I can think of tomorrow other than watching the football .

Good morning and no rain! :banghead: :cry::cry::cry: Not one drop!

I love curly hair and I am of an older generation. Wish son had curly hair. But of course, his is like a brush!

Went to gcs and not bought one plant. Got 2 sacs of horticultural grit. Annoyed that I paid full price for split bags. Millennial for you. Asked him to post 2 letters. He didn't even know that he was charged big stamp 2nd class money until I looked. Very annoyed. He went up to the post office and got the refund.

Nothing is reduced in gcs! And football is free on Pick. Great that we have free football to watch. Great for kids and men.

Freegled 200 paving bricks. Will go back and get more.

87%????? BBC is so wrong! 1pm I might have a bit of spit! I wish I had a full day of day!

My sweetcorns at home.
SAM_0415.JPG

I have another raised bed of sweetcorns. Exactly as non-dig way of raised bed. Old turf and proper garden soil and then shop bought compost.

In high summer, my hellebore anemone is flowering. I also saw one on sale in gc.

Seen from a gc and I'm waiting for mine to flower. Some parent was so nice. He asked his children to choose the plant. One confidence trickster (about 10) gave a compelling narrative and the younger kid had no chance to give an opinion and he bought a very horrible dahlia on her suggestion. I wish I had children again and I wish I'd be a better parent. Now, would I let her dictate my choice? That's the crux ... and dilemma!

Not much done today but its been quite nice for a change , verticut the lawn and tidied up the bits after. fed and watered the pots. I've cleaned /tidied the spring bulbs and bagged them up for storage , they weren't labels in two pots of bulbs and I do remember leaving them without labels saying I'll remember that one well the time has coming and I am not a clue .

I've identified a few plants which look like they are going to have to go , papaver patty plum is top of the list and reluctantly my Lobleia Tupa its never really been spectacular and the wet winter and now wet summers aren't doing it any favours , it doesn't flower anywhere near as good as yours alp, I may give it another chance if it makes it through the winter.

Chelsea stuffed Utd today as well :)

I wouldn't be surprised if Chelea lifted the cup. That would be very sad for Arsenal and David Luiz. Son said that if he performed well, he's a Brazilian; if badly, he's British. Son gave me a narrative of the goal scoring.

I wish I had water to water the pots. Not a drop of rain. All we had was spits. This morning, the hose pipe will be on as soon as I have finished with this.

Labelling is not an easy art. Some people even stapled the label onto the pot. Papaver patty plum or indeed more of giant poppies are hard work - short flowering, too much material to compost. YET, they are hard to get rid of here in East London - like Acanthus mollis, they have STRONG, LONG roots and are constantly a resurging nightmare!

My allotment tupa is becoming a thug! Ooops! In fact, a standard rose was crippled by thosands of roses. Half of them had become dry flowers and yet 2/3 of the flowers was smothering the short standard. I had to give it a brutal cut

It's so chilly out there!

We were hot and hot and hot and dry and dry and dry! :banghead:

Seeing this flower fills me with dread - it's like death knell ringing. It reminds you that autumn is drawing near. Tithonia is like a harbinger of autumn deaths. Sadly, orange colour has been rendered red!

SAM_0440.JPG

This is a very big peach - the biggest I have ever seen. I had to remove it from the lean to. It was put there because of leaf curl. Now it's out as the whole plant was covered with spider mites - strings of them about 6 inches long and the whole top bit was shrouded in their silky veil. And a lot of leaves fell off whilst being cleaned. This one has a girth of 22cm 8 inches plus! Ready to be enjoyed today!

Yet another laptop and all the photos above look a washout! This time, it's HP and it's all washout!

Went to get a free pond and it was too big to get in the car! So annoyed. It was about 5 feet and the little Fiesta just sat on the road size and sneered at me! Another missed opportunity.

It was very hot yesterday and I spent an hour watering the plant and only watered half of my garden. When you water your garden, you do discover some surprises.

Watched the lifting of the cup last night. Without fans, it's not the same, but the razzmatazz was awesome still. Now for FA.. Hope Arsenal lifts the cup. After all, they haven't had one for a looooooooooooooooong time! But somehow, I have the feeling that Chelsea might just pip at the post. I wanted to cry when I saw an Arsenal scarf draped on a coffin - the poor man died living through a long period of DROUGHT. I know how it feels to have a protracted period of drought.

I have 4 of these squashes
SAM_0487.JPG
SAM_0486.JPG

and 2 yellow courgettes
SAM_0485.JPG

One fimbriata begonias - bought them very late and they are 50p or £1 packet.
SAM_0483.JPG

Bought some snowdrops and planted them the day before. Yesterday, went to the garden and discovered some got dug up by you know who! Now I lost the labesl even though I told myself that I must bury them DEEP inside the pots. Half of them got completely dug up and the content emptied. I was so annoyed. I bought a Madelaine AGAIN for the label even though I have some. I had already dusted it with burnt ash and cinder. Apparently, it's no potent enough. I laid some plastic grid on them and used sticks to fix them in place. These nuisance foxes dug everywhere. Hate the foxes who think they are the mistress of the house - arranging my furniture and killed my beloved Goldie!

Now I have to deal with Mr Attitude. He would come straight at me as if he wanted to be demonstrative in his emotion. When he nearly crashed into me, he would speak French. But when I gave him hugs, he would be very still and I would stroke his breast as if giving him a tickle.

Yesterday, watched Joson Bohn on Mind of a Murderer, in which he grinned when he talked about his evil deeds. He needed Judge Judy to shake him up a bit. Such inappropriate affect - grinning from time to time talking about killing his naive girlfriend. But you asked yourself that he was indeed a product of toxic parents - father physically abusive and an alcoholic and his mother beat him up when he needed her help most and she had to plead guilty to assault - he got in the way of her high-flying career as a lawyer! And she left him living alone in an apartment at 13! Shocking parents!

I have some dahlias flowering, but they are so pathetic that I asked myself: Why on earth have you bought them. It's not as if I had acres of land to fill with junk!

My water melons or indeed melons are a bit elusive. As usual, the early sowing ended up dead and I might be late the last round of sowing.

By the look of it, I have Thalictrum rochebrunianum! Is that right, guys? I do notice the difference. One bought with a label and another with just Thalictrum. So pleased that I don't have the same two plants.

Yesterday, I made my own mulch. I mixed well in well rotted horse manure with a cheap compost and added it to the front of the hottest wall, in between the eupatoriums, incarnata and rudbeckia Herbstonne. I was so fed up with looking at dry and barren soil. I will carrry on until I have finished with the horse manure.

Went out to fix a hose and it was windy and cold.

This is confederate Jasmine or Trachelospermum jasminoides. Came to me twice the size and as you can see, after a month of testing my microclime, it responded with new shoots against my horrible dwarf raised wall, which keeps my plants warm and one chrysanthemum flowered in April. But I don't like the colour and it was binned.

Zenj: Lovely lilies and Monardas. The colour of the lilies is just stunningly delicate and calming. I have one pink Monardas and one purple. It's like a joke and then my courgette swamp them over. Shouldn't really plant them together. This year's misadventure. 2 or 3 days ago, went to freegle a pond shape. It was free whilst everybody else was solding the thing for £40. It turned out to be too large. Couldn't go into the small Fiesta. 2nd time this little car let me down. Before I could easily fit in a bigger size pellet. Not now! Very disappointed. I have had steady courgette harvest.

Had some ready meals lately and they were disappointing. One Lasange with very tarty tomato base. I will ground my finest sweet tom and make some sweet sauce without adding sugar. I have already stored some seeds of some lovely tom seeds.

Last night garden historian, Advolly Richmond, had a wonderful clip on Alton Tower garden. Strange that I have never heard of such a stunning place. The word is not overused.

The following photos can't fully describe how enchanting the place is.

When I think about Alton Towers, I thought of nothing but adrenaline junky rides, but never thought it would be enchanting, magical and calming like this!
