Just a follow-up.

In the fall I did lay down a pretty good carpet of chopped leaves.

Weeds are mostly non existent except for stuff that has deep roots. Dandelions and some sort of wort.

A couple months ago we spread out leftover seeds and some are coming up. Peas, radishes for sure. Apparently we missed some potatoes and they're growing. 3 or 4 cabbage that survived the winter. And a pepper plant of some sort.

And we found about 4 pounds of well expired dry black beans in our pantry. Figured what the heck and spread them. Now we are going to have to figure out how to process fresh picked black beans.

Well, you could pick the beans, dry them , and put them in the back of the cupboard, or you could run the mower over them and till them in, very good for the ground.

Hi, my name is ruderunner and I'm an addict.

I can't help myself. Yesterday on the way home from work I stopped by the local greenhouse. Momma insisted on growing pickles and sweet banana peppers. She's going to get them. 8 pickles and 12 banana seedlings.

Plus 8 green bell, 8 red bell, 4 orange 4 yellow and 8 cabbage and 8 San marzano. I might go back and get a couple hillbilly tomatoes too.
