The term "Cabernet Sauvignon" is being used differently here, but technically speaking,it is one particular cultivar of the European Wine Grape, Vitis vinifera 'Cabernet Suvignon'. Originally, known for being perhaps the most famous cultivar used in the Bordeaux region of France, (though actually 'Merlot' is the most commonly planted), it is now a common cultivar in many wine-growing regions around the world.
