I am sure that they are white flies. I have neem oil. Can I mix neem oil with bt to make my own insecticide? I would prefer the bt because it is cheaper and better at its job than spinosad.
Just to make sure. White fly when you shake the plant fly up everywhere. Scale mainly stays on the plant. And yes you can mix them but make sure you use the correct amount of each per gallon or water. Or quart, or pint.

Yes. They fly.

I'm going to order some bt now. Also, you were right. I thought I demolished the entire population, but I found 2 more later today.

Update

The bt came in the mail today. I mixed a solution of the bt and neem and sprayed it throughout my plants. The whole plant was covered from head to toe. Will the caterpillars fall off? How will I know if it worked?

Also, I saw caterpillar eggs on my unharmed yellow tomato plant. Pretty crazy! I removed those eggs and sprayed away!

I don't know if they fall off or not. They just aren't there anymore.

Thanks.

Last question. I applied the product and it stayed for a few hours, but it just now had a big rain which probably washed away all the product. Do I reapply? It's going to rain on an off for at least the whole week.

If the product dried before it rained you should be ok.

I applied the bt and I NEVER saw another caterpillar again. I HIGHLY recommend bt for caterpillars. I apply it once a week, but I can start doing it less frequently.

Thank you Chuck! Really appreciate it!
