Hummingbird Nest in Strawberry Guava

Anna’s Hummingbird is nesting in my Strawberry Guava tree! I normally get 4 or 5 nests of different species of bird in spring, this one started it off!

I didn't know Hummingbirds used an open nest. I thought it would be completely closed with a small hole for access.

I only know North American species, but I’ve never heard of that. Hummingbirds aren’t weavers, which is the type of nest your thinking of.
