It happened to me once or twice but I could never quite bring myself to eat it. Maybe if I didn't know what it was it would be different. After all it is only a fungus just like mushrooms. Anyway, in my garden I have tried all kinds of sweet corn over the years and so far the best I have found is called Bodacious. I average about 1 1/2 ears per plant and the ears usually have 16 rows. Not the biggest but the flavor is excellent and the growing end is tight so there is not too much of a problem with corn ear ear worms especially if you spray with spinosadMaybe I'll try to sell it at a Mexican restaurant LOL! "Hey, want some huitlacoche"?
