Kind of off topic...but I never heard that story. Oneeye was terrific and one of my favorite posters. I'm really sorry he fell victim to the same treatment :( I wish he were still here!!

so do I. but he argued with the shrieking critter about a thread question asking if they should remove a tree or not.
and it was a member from USA.. the shrieking demon couldn't handle being questioned about its opinion on how it would be normal to keep it in the UK. oneeye dared to say his job is deaing with it and it is best cut down. Big mistake arguing with the shrieking demon, cactus boy banned him instantly. POS. worthless. Cactus boy should focus more on his son he never spent a second with or makes time for.

No, He moved on. but this is the name of the thread that caused him to get the boot. I don't do links, never liked links so you would have to copy and paste it in the forum search if you are interested in seeing the pointless reason cactus boy banned him.

They loaded it with a skidsteer into my truck.
Lovely, I have been digging it out with a shovel and loading half filled sacks into the back of my little old Fiat 500. Mind you my entire garden is probably about half the size of your pumpkin patch. The heap I got it from had weeds growing all over it , which was reassuring.

Yes, I remember that thread, it all seemed pretty pointless at the time. Shame to lose someone with fifty years professional experience, isn't there a joining e-mail address, Meadowlark?

@Oliver Buckle Yes, I believe there is, but I don't have the access privileges. I'll request the e-mail address from an Administrator and hopefully invite him back. He had a tremendous knowledge base.

The first year I planted a real long row of them. I used permanent drip tape along side the row, a 55 gallon poly drum, a rubbermaid lawn trailer and an ATV to haul 50 gallons of water down there every few days. I dissolved N P and K in a bucket and poured it into the 55 gallon container and filled the rest up with a garden hose.

The downside to this is that whole shebang weighed 450 pounds loaded. So I'd have to leave my ATV there and walk home. I'd come back the next day and get the ATV/trailer.

Planted 6 test pots with the gunpowder and pumpkin seeds on 1-26-25. Grams of gunpowder in each of the 6 pots in order: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I tested the germination of 6 of seeds from the packet in a moist paper towel and it was 100%.

Good work on the experiment. Results not generally surprising...except I'm surprised a bit that there was any growth at 3-5 grams.
