Getting ready for fried green tomatoes.

I leave a few green tomatoes on the counter to ripen so we continue to have red tomatoes for awhile, but my husband loves fried green tomatoes so much I might as well fix as many as he'll eat while they are available.

Although not nearly as good, I can get nice organic tomatoes at my store throughout the winter, but I have yet to see green tomatoes for sale, so this is a once a year special treat. We make the most of it.
