Each and every year our family host a house party...whether it's for Christmas or New Years but we've never really hosted a real garden party so i am here thinking might be i could voice my opinions as this thought really appeals to me...i really think this could be lots of fun..we could even use tree trunk for seating and we could adorn the edges with christmas lights...there is just so much ideas floating around in my head right now. Got to let this idea materialized!

Your idea of a garden party sounds great but I hope you are in a warm climate at this time of the year because I would not get many people taking me up on the invite for a garden party outdoors right now. I like garden parties in the Spring when the garden is just coming to life after a cold winter. Good Luck.

I am living in the Caribbean so the weather is just perfect for having garden parties and even though it's a great idea i know they're some family members who are going to differ.

I really like the idea. You can serve fruity cocktails and garden fresh tea sandwiches for an even more special time.

I love garden parties and we have one every year. I use the fairy lights to decorate each tree in the garden and a good idea is the solar bamboo lights planted all over the garden to make an aisle for people to walk through. If you have a pool, then add floating candles and lighting is incredible for these parties. We use bean bags too and the tree stump benches would be a great feauture for a garden party. Go for it!!!

The idea of the solar bamboo lights really appeals to me ...i'll have to check at the home depot and see if i can get any there to purchase...i don't have a pool at home so i'll have to forget about that idea.

The solar powered bamboo lights are fantastic and we tested it out for our new years party. There was a lot of wind and the nice thing is that it was not effected by it. It also needs no oils that smell for days later and it is simply easy and looks fantastic. I hope you find them. Another idea is to decorate a tree with fairy lights and add beanbags to the floor, with blankets so friends can choose to sit on the blanket or the beanbag. It creates such a friendly and intimate vibe that makes everyone feel at home.

I so wish I had the space to have a garden party of my own. I would get the paper lanterns and everything. Someday when I have a big yard, I will have to consider having one of my own.

A garden party sounds like so much great fun and something I will surely put on in the future. It's a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends who you went to school with a long time ago and make new friends as well. This is also a nice way to get together with family during the holidays or any other special event.

It has always been my dream to have a garden party, especially back when I had a bamboo grove and willows along with fragrant orange and lemon trees. It has such a dreamy, romantic feel to it and is a wonderful way to enjoy the fruits of one's labor and to share it with loved ones while breathing in fresh air. I do have a great big redwood tree and a brick path all along it which cats from around the neighborhood love to sunbathe on.

Garden parties are absolutely a ton of fun! There's nothing as peaceful as relaxing with friends outside at dusk. Bamboo lights or torches also really add to the atmosphere. The only drawback are the presence of mosquitoes and other bugs during the summer seasons!

Kammy, you said you wanted to have a yard party for Christmas or New Year's. Did you have it? If so, how was it? Post some pictures so that those of us who don't live in a tropical area can envy you guys in the Caribbean!

Dont dream it just do it! Start with a small one by having log fires and bean bags outside, candles (you can buy the bamboo solar torch) so you dont have to worry about anyone knocking them over. The food for a garden party can be simple, barbeque or coctail snacks. What makes the event fun is the ambience and company
