Greetings. Hoping to find the forums a useful and enjoyable place to discuss garden/gardening matters.

I'm considering installing a garden cabin within the limited space I have available in my garden, probably to use as an office (as I have an only very modestly-sized, rented, city flat).

Seeking recommendations based on the following requirements:

- approximately 3m x 2m
- sturdy construction whilst also being possible to cleanly dismantle for potential re-sale at a later date
- insulated
- costs no greater than £10,000
- available on 48 month finance agreement
- doesn't require planning permission

I've done quite a bit of research and, as yet, have not been able to find a manufacturer that is able to meet all of the criteria.

Best wishes,

C

Hi and welcome!

As far as I'm aware, you don't need planning permission for a shed, if it's not more than two and a half metres tall and isn't a "permanent structure." i.e. It can be moved.
or is too close to a neighbour's garden. The information is available on-line.

There's a lot of self-assembly garden sheds.

Having chosen one, I'd suggest you get enough corporation type big paving stones to form the base, to keep it out of the damp.

I'm sometimes asked about the one in my avatar. I built it myself 38 years ago.
It sits on brick piers.

Welcome to the forum.
My 'cabin' is a shiplap 8ft x 4ft shed, I have bookshelves down one side made from old floorboards and a cupboard and 'desk' the other, window, side. I bought a couple of large sheets of polystyrene insulation and lined it before I put anything in, it fitted nicely between the timber framing. The whole thing cost me about £400, but that was a few years ago. Probably a lot less luxurious than you are looking for. Try a Google search for 'Garden offices UK', there are a lot of possibilities, most well inside your price range.

Lots of pictures of my hidey hole here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIfrjavewvS-nVvpdMc4NeA/featured . During lockdown I recorded a bunch of the stories I wrote.
