This came up on a music board today.

Those of a certain age, may remember "The Cascades" and "Rhythm of the Rain." Released in 1962.

For those who don't this is the original version. Just one upload over 14M hits. Still popular.

This was written and sung by the leader John Gummoe.

It was a big hit, but they were a bit of a "one hit wonder." But I like the tune and can play it.

The Cascades toured for many years on the back of that tune. John Gummoe is one of those singers who could still sing in his old age.

He recorded a different version of the song in 2005 when he was 67. I like this one too.

This is him singing it live in 2015 when he was 77. Not a good recording, but his voice was still good.

That's amazing after all that time he could still sing.I would have been about 6 in 1962 but I've heard it over the years on radio, my oldest brother might have had it.

I'm watching a 1952 film, "One Minute to Zero." starring Robert Mitchum ansd Ann Blyth. She was 24 at the time. He was 35 and looked a lot older.

This song written for the film by Victor Young is heard many times. in it.

There must be lots of different versions of it, but this sticks to the original score.

This was the first recording, by Jeri Southern, I remember it was featured in the first series of "A Place To Call Home." As it was contemporary with the year of the storyline. It's my favourite version.

I have the boxed set of the 2010 TV drama "Justified" (18 DVDs).
I watched it first on TV and have watched it all the way through since on DVD twice.
This is a bit of a cult TV series, so much so that people have put clips of two of the main characters, on YouTube, Raylan played by Timothy Olyphant and his ex-wife Winona, played by Natalie Zea.

One of them was set to this Randy Rogers song. One I'd never heard before. I liked it so much, I taught myself to play it.

I was looking through my sheet music today and remembered, I haven't played this for a while.

This was featured in a Christmas film on TV today. (I like Christmas films, they always have a happy ending.
My Favourites of the more recent ones are "Under the Christmas Table," "If You Believe." "A Gift Wrapped Christmas"

I think it might interest "somebody" on here.
