Good luck with that! It's so much fun when you find you can do stuff like that and have an actual harvest from it.
That's true, it's wonderful:) I've been growing wild strawberries indoors for a few months now, but I still get excited whenever they bear fruit:D And I'm always happy when I eat sprouts that I grew by myself:D

Do you shell the peanuts first or plant the pod? :)

Now that I think of it, I believe I may have separated the two halves before they sprouted. They are rather vigorous once they get going - maybe it's the large seed. The resulting sprout is quite thick as compared to small greens or flowers.

Was worried it was about to be too cold here as well, but that wave of "cold" has already blown through. We're back to seeing highs in the mid 80s. Means I'll have to be sure and get out and give the garden a good watering before I go to work today.

I think I will try to plant some peanuts it looks easy and like fun. It has gotten a little cool here so I have to wait until spring.

So far I've planted squash and cucumber, from purchased plants - I never seem to get seed started... I'm thinking about pumpkin, we have some at work that only get to about three inches. My okra and cuccuzza didn't do anything over the summer, but the okra has finally started to flower and I could swear the cuccuzza is a bit taller. Still waiting for something from the kiwi vine... tomatoes are bouncing back - four varieties... Not sure if I want to add anything else (seasonal) yet.

What's growing in your garden?
I absolutely love fall harvesting. Zucchini is one of my favorite vegetables as there are so many ways to eat it. I am also a fan of spaghetti squash (although this takes longer to cook). While I would love to grow pumpkins in by back yard I unfortunately just don't have enough room. I had a friend who grew it in her garden. She had a very large garden and the pumpkins took over nearly all of it! That still isn't to say I love buying them and baking the seeds.

I have never tried growing okra but am going to look into it for next year! Fried orka is a great treat.

I don't have the room either, it's a variety called Jack be little. They are miniature pumpkins. The okra didn't do much, but I probably didn't help it. I am learning that I just don't have enough time to be a vegetable gardener. I am having some success with my citrus though.
