Close up of Foxgloves
Foxglove is an old English name. It is derived from the belief that foxes slipped their feet into the leaves of the plant to sneak up on prey.
This is not a Foxglove (Digitalis). It is a hybrid Beard-tongue (Penstemon). It looks like Penstemon x 'Rubicundus' or a similar cultivar.
What a depressing development. Other generations are the worst. Never have children. Never have parents.View attachment 77044
My woodland garden of ferns, hostas selfsown foxgloves. All has been removed except for along the back fence to accommodate lawn (yuck) for another generation‘s wishes.
