my favorite food store does have a corner of "older" reduced price food items. And I have bought from there, all is just fine. Such as Parsnips, they last forever, and made a good stock for me. Picked up some portabella mushrooms yesterday, yep will saute up today. Its all in the planning to use them. I recall a huge 20 lb bag of potatoes put there, hope a family would grab them up.
