I was told that what goes in the tea bags is what´s swept up off the floor.
True or not, it was enough for me.
For me, tea satisfies the need for ritual, nothing to do with thirst.
Bags don´t cut it.
Tea bags use a division of leaf size called Fannings. There are a large number of different grades of leaf based on their size Within each size there are grades as well. It is quite complicated if the truth be known.
Oh and when my wife was little her family were friendly with the managing director of a company which made Jelly Babies. He told her that the black ones were made from floor sweepings. she has never eaten them (or any other black sweet) since.
