Does human hair deter deer?

I think 10 years on some barbering website, these guys sat around trying to find ways to create more income for themselves. Then they started these rumors all over the web of really good uses for hair clippings... not realizing that us cheap gardeners would want them for free anyway.

I honestly am always skeptical about this type of stuff unless there is some real science behind it. One that did work for me was the bag of water in the attic to chase away bats.

A bag of water in the attic will chase away bats? How or why does that work? Neat! How do you set up the bag?
I don't currently have a bat problem, but forewarned is forearmed...
