Does any one have an Aloe Vera Plant in their home?

My wife has one, but she isn't the best at taking care of plants, lol. My understanding is that they don't require much care, and ours is doing fine regardless of the neglect. As far as I know we haven't actually used the plant as a remedy of any kind at this point, but I'm sure we will at some point. I think modern culture lends more to buying something from the store rather than using a cheaper and just as simple alternative.
