I am practically counting the days this year, anyone else? I am starting to plan ahead though, so it's nice to have the time to dream while the snow is still on the ground. I've got to stick to a budget, so advance planning is a must to get the most bang for my buck!

What are you doing right now to prep for spring? How detailed are your plans - do you have just a vague idea of what you want, or do you pull out the graph paper? I'll admit that I'm easily swayed while at the garden center, so I need to go in with a plan!

I'm looking forward to spring too. I miss flowers and green leaves. Winter is awful:(
I don't have a garden anymore, so I don't make any special preparations, but I want to bring my miniature roses to my new apartment on the first warm day:)

I have been collecting seeds since last fall. I do a lot of swap pin and trading seeds. Here at my house, most of what we eat is food we raise. We have a big farm and we raise our own beef and pork and veggie gardens. We usually have about seven big gardens every year. I can, freeze, and dehydrate everything we grow. We aren't working in the dirt all year growing but we do put in the effort all year with planning and collecting and seed starting too.

These pictures were taken in November, but other than the broccoli being bigger, and having harvested several heads, things are pretty much the same now.
LIcenter, are these warm enough? When we are sweltering in July, and our gardens have shut down, you can post about your gardens full of green and happy plants! We all have our seasons, and a forum like this one lets us share and give hope to each other, even during the worst weather.

I literally counted the days last year, but that seemed to make it go even slower.

Winter is rough, especially now that we just got hit with a foot of snow. I'm looking forward to spring. I don't have too many things planned. I planted native wildflower seeds in late Fall so I'm hoping they didn't get eaten and hopefully they will grow. I'll also be starting some extra seeds indoors, which I can begin in just about a month.

I've been counting the days since New Year's past..lol I am definitely not a winter person but living in Ontario usually means its a very long season. I can't wait for spring planting, beautiful colors and sunshine!!!

I have had enough of this cold weather. We are not getting the snow but boy is it cold. I saw last night my hometown was at -4 degrees. Here in the Mid-Atlantic if it gets lower than 20 degrees we are closed down or delayed. Well March is close at hand and then it is April.
