Used to buy these beautiful $100.00 sweaters for husband, until he decides to work on the car with one one, from now on its Sweatshirts. But now, as he is retiring what sweaters he has left, that are not ruined will serve him well for years to come.

I have a difficult time figuring out what to buy for my husband. If he sees something he wants, he buys it. I have to be careful what I say I want because he will do everything he can to get it for me. Even after 42 years we still get gifts for one another - maybe nothing expensive but just something to remind the other that they are the most important person in the world to us.

Yesterday we went shopping, stopped in a resturant for dinner. As usual we set side by side in the booth.
Waitress saide we were waiting for another couple and we said no. She then said OH sweethearts, I told her no I set beside her so I don't have to look at her.

At one time I would have said yup but no longer.

We're often in restaurants and do a bit of people watching.

Young couple sitting opposite each other and talking....First date.

Young couple sitting opposite each other and talking... She gets out her phone and starts texting.... Second date

Young couple sitting opposite each other and talking, both have mobile phones on the table at which they constantly glance..... Third date

Young couple sitting opposite each other not talking, both texting on their phones.... Married

We've seen two adults and two kids sitting at a restaurant table, all texting on their phones with hardly a word said between them, it's not an uncommon occurance.

As a bit of a **ss take, I once e-mailed the Daily Mail letters page, saying "I'm well aware of the exact positioning of the different cutlery items on a dining table, but I'm not sure exactly where the mobile phone should be placed."
Two days later a women responded quoting my letter and replied "In the water jug."
I'd have to agree.

also at that age, where we really don't need anything. during the year, if we need a new shovel or some other garden replacement item. we just buy it. hard to find things for each other. we treat each other to experiences instead. tickets to some play, weeks away at a resort. etc. He just went to a house auction and came away with some neat garden stuff.

I always give my family what they always wanted from a long time but didn't have the time for it or just don't feel the need for. But I like this idea of yours, it is amazing. This year I can try that. Like giving tickets for a super duper massage at the best massage center, tickets for gaming, a weekend at the resort, etc. Thank you so much man for the great idea.

I have always believed you made tjhe special people in your life the most important person(s) in your life every day.

Just because you became suddenly fility rich is no reson to serve notice youy are going to stick them in a home when you are dilapidated.

This is true. However there is no harm is doing something special once in awhile to remind them. Everyone needs to feel appreciated and a special surprise now and then is a nice way to do it. It need not be a material item either, it could be an outing to some place the person is interested in or a dinner out at a special place.

Thing I've been doing for about 2 years now for Kare is a stone or rock just about every day.
She had rocks all over the place now, in the kitchen, the bath an dmany in the living room and dinning room.
she may even have some in her bed room.

The rocks or the honey. The honey is harvested to be enjoyed not treasured.
Really thick books full of recites for honey, Not just for gladeing ham any longer.

Rocks you just look at, life and feel and if mad enough throw at some thing (cat) or some one.
