D'you know, they/we/I reckon the very best anti neighbour hedge to grow is Griselinia, with some (several) Berberis stenophylla planted surreptitiously in between. The Griselinia will grow wide, and up to 7 or 8 metres tall, and the Berberis can cause nasty deep gouges in the skin. 
Thanks for the photos. It is all looking great - dogs too, I miss ours so much. We used to have Beagle meets here on the camping site, and the keepers were all joggers or cyclists, who ran with the dogs in a pack for miles each day....Magic!
