Are you sure that's not a Brandywine variety? They have the potato leaf, I am pretty sure there is only one true Cherokee Purple, other than Cherokee chocolate and Cherokee green but they are a mutation and none of those have a potato leaf.
I planted three potato leaf plants last year.
I originally got the seeds from a guy I know who is with the University of Kentucky Agriculture. I had a good friend that passed who was a member of seed savers exchange. If I remember right, he said it had another name also that I cannot remember.

... I prefer the Purple Cherokee ...
My favorite saltshaker tomato. I'll get four or so plants from these starters and they will be the go to for fresh eating.

I'll have 10-15 romas, a few celebrity, and of course the Texas sweet 100s for sauces and canning and snacking.

Just looking at the picture of those there's not a chance I would even consider trying them, they look like they're half water. I want meat in my tomatoes, the more the better for fresh eating and canning purposes. Plus I prefer a nice thin skin like I get with my Greeks. Pretty sure I've posted pics of them here but here's what they look like.
