I don't know if I'd recognize all those things or know what was safe to eat or not. I agree with your comment about people being afraid to eat something from the wild. Silly, really....it's probably healthier than what you'd get at the store.
I was brought up to learn about what's available in the wild; I was lucky really, my grandfather always took me out as a child and he just seemed to be a human-encyclopaedia. He knew what I thought was all you could ever need to know about plants, fruit, veg, flowers.. Wild or cultivated. He's taught me everything I know. He also gave me a book, which I use as my "bible" for anything I'm not sure about.. It helps you to recognise all types of plants, tells you where you tend to find them etc, including a section on the poisonous or inedible plants and how to avoid those. I tried to find a copy of it online, but it's quite an old book.. Must be around somewhere though.
This is quite a useful book though, too, if you were looking to learn more about wild-food foraging. It's kind of a lost art, I think.

On the blackberry front, we now have abundances of huge green, pink-tinged berries all over the place: I'm guessing if the weather we've been having these past few weeks continues, they'll be ready towards the end of the month. Yummyy!
