I've read through every post I could find on this site with the word "beekeeping" attached (as per search), and I must say that I've received some very helpful information. That being said, I have questions about beekeeping. My main worry is that there may not be enough pollinating flowers/crops around (4 mile radius) to sustain a colony. This is all speculation, as I'm a new desert inhabitant and know little about the region specifically.
Can my colony die off if there is not enough to pollinate?
Would I be doing the hive a disservice by setting them up here?
I have not started my beekeeping journey, as I'm unwilling to do so until I know I'm not wasting time, effort, money and lives.
