actually not at all. My dad had a veggie garden at the house we moved to in the country when I was about 10 years old. He did plant a few veggies in the city home small back yard. But I did not pay much attention to either. My dad also could go out in the woods and find eatable mushrooms, shame I did not pay attention .
I remember a moment, when we bought the house in the city, from an old women. She had a row of rosebushes along side her driveway. As if it happened yesterday, I can see her face as she left her house for the last day in a car with her family, she looked over to the row of rosebushes and said "Oh, my babies". I think I was about 4 or 5 at that time. I wished I had the were with all then to have contacted her to tell her that my dad was taking care of them for her. They all bloomed so wonderful. Moving into our home 26 years ago is when I really got hooked on gardening, research etc. Now I understand the heart felt shy the old women felt, I too, will be very saddened when the day comes I have to leave my many gardensss for good. It is hopes I just die here and not have to be driven away with that one last look of my little paradise.
