To help relieve the aches and pains in my joints I apply my pain relief cream and have started to soak in a tub of hot water with epsom salts and baking soda that has helped and a cup of ginger tea is also helpful.

Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory which has been shown to relief aches and pains.

You may have a disc problem and want to go see a doctor. For the mean time, I would rotate between cold packs and a heating pad to see if that helps you out some. After my son was born I had bad back pain for a while. It ended up clearing on its own. Motrin is also a good pain reliever.

I'll go the natural route, here. Capsasin/cayenne is great for pain. Or find a capsasin gel and rub it on your pain spot. As with any pepper, don't touch it, and rub your mouth, nose or eyes, then you will definitely be in pain. Make a tea out of it and add honey, drink twice a day, in 1 week there will be a difference. St. John's Wort, Lavender, and Willow teas are good for pain, too.

I get back pain sometimes but when I do I usually take painkillers. But mine is not that bad and not that often if it is really bothering you I would go see a doctor to make sure it is not anything serious.

Just want to chip in and say that strengthening my back helped a lot with my back pains. In the past, I regularly woke up with a stiff back, especially if I sleep in a bad position. After hitting the gym for a couple of months, I haven't had any back pains at all. I do chin-ups and deadlifts mostly.

A stronger back, coupled with the tips others have mentioned, should help you with your back problems.

Oh, and for immediate relief, a light massage in the shower helps me a lot too. Get the water hot if you can.

Back pain is the worst and I have had it since I was pregnant with my daughter years ago. I have found that it helps to sleep on my side with my leg propped up on a pillow. It keeps your spine aligned as it is supposed to be. One day I hope to get one of those fancy Sleep number beds.

I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. I used to have back pain due to prolong sitting. What I did was do exercises, yoga and a lot of stretching in the morning. Calcium is also important, I suggest you take dairy products, drink milk or take Calcium supplements. I personally don’t like taking any medications so I didn’t take medications for pain.

I sometimes suffer from back pains, too, which I usually get from a bad sleeping position or from cold weather. For immediate relief, I rely on my bestfriend for a good back massage which she is very good at doing and applying some liniment/ointment on the affected areas.
