I would never feed/encourage racoons.
There are pros and cons. My raccoons are well behaved (except when they are babies) and they eat up the scorpions and big spiders I used to be plagued with, in fact have eaten up all the bugs, I think, because I don't seem to have any anymore, though I live in the woods.

I have never touched one and do not allow them inside, although one of them got in the habit of touching my hand with her nose when I put the cat food out for them. I have no desire to "tame" them. We understand one another and coexist in a symbiotic relationship, but it's important that they maintain their independence and feral state.

A dozen deer making their way off the mountain towards my cover crop with what looks like about 20 more behind them.
It's been a long time since I've seen snow on the ground for weeks like this, and along with a complete mast bust last year, have the deer literally living in the bottom lands this winter.
I dread to see my cover crop once the snow finally melts.
On the bonus side, I can pick up 5-gallon buckets of deer droppings and the place smells like one huge hog lot, which means they may eat some of my cover crop but will replace it with all the free manure.

My airbnb is located in New Bern, NC. we have cameras, can see deer roaming, raccoons , cats, and possums. Heard there were bear there, so far none appeared on camera yet. Up here in PA with fresh fallen snow I can walk about to see what prints there are. As the trees/ shrubs naked have seen fox walking in our woods. All our cats are in heaven now. Have a feral that comes by, I put food out for her and plugged in the cat house, she also eats at my neighbors, she's fixed.

We have bobcats they look much larger than I expected them to be. They look like full size TN mountain lions with short tails. I worry about being outside after dark.

Yeah, looks more like a mountain lion to me. We have them here in the woods in Missouri. I've never seen them, but I don't step outside at night since the last of my dogs died. But my neighbor hunts deer, and he's seen them and tracks in the snow.
The stripes on the legs are more bobcat than lion, aren't they? Do you think the two species of cat can cross breed?

I also have cat who love to walk in my garden. But he can often pick up fleas while walking. That's why Revolution Plus Without Vet Prescription has become a real lifesaver for us. I understand that I need to take good care of my cat, and only thanks to this product I can do it very well.

I put baking soda on my cat and dog they have no fleas. Baking soda is very lot cost and it works great. Poke holes in an empty food container jar lid fill jar with baking soda this is easy to sprinkle on the pets.

My pets walk between the rows they are never a problem in our garden. Pets are smarter than people think they learned quick that baking soda stops the itch.

Fleas are an irritant, but it is worms that really affect the pets. Don't tell me gary350, you throw a clove of garlic down their throat.

Baking soda when mixed equally with salt is highly effective at preventing and killing fleas in your house. When sprinkled onto carpets and furniture, the mixture can dehydrate and kill fleas and their eggs. The method is to generously sprinkle the mixture onto your carpets and furniture. Let it sit for several hours, or overnight, to ensure it thoroughly dehydrates the fleas. Vacuum up the mixture and be sure to empty the vacuum bag or canister outside.

Never actually applied to pets, but it works to get them "out of Dodge".

We told our vet that we put baking soda on our dog, he said, it is 1 of the best ways to keep fleas off pets and it does not hurt pets. Sprinkle baking soda on the floor in the house it will kill fleas.
