So, what's your mission as a gardener?

My garden is habitat restoration that is severely needed. My mission is to provide much-needed habitat to the native insects and animals that desperately need it, as well as spreading this information to others in hopes that people will someday throw out the non-native species sold at garden centers and replace them with native species that benefit our butterflies, bees, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. I grow species that are native to the United States, and the majority are native to my specific area. I mainly grow prairie plants, because it's disappearing at a rate faster than any other habitat. At ~3% of original prairie remaining, it's virtually gone. The planet and the living things that we share this planet with deserve better from us.
