My mom liked the plant number 4, so there are a lot of them in my parents' house. I guess I could steal one, lol, but I don't have enough free space in my apartment.
I love the plant number one, it's so pretty:)

Plant number 4 was one of the first plants I started growing :) They grow very fast and reproduce so easily. Plus they are perfect for almost any part of the house. They fit almost anywhere :) And if taken care of properly they will look really good and elegant. By the way, I think I also had a variety that was totally green.

I think the color of the leaves changes when the plant doesn't get enough sunlight, but I might be wrong. I've never grown it. I remember seeing plant number 4 in my grade school. I guess my teacher liked it:)

@claudine The plant number 4 is a mix of white and green, if I recall right. The only time I noticed it changing colors was when it wasn't getting enough sun light, it started to look a bit sad too and a bit yellowish D: I've noticed those do better near a window :)

I have plant 4 number growing by the ton outside. We call it Spider Plant. My sister gave me a lot of her "spider babies" and they grow very easily. I must bring some indoor in order to benefit from them physically and aesthetically:). I have also been given some plain green "babies" from a friend so they are just a different variety I think.

Then your aunt is a very smart woman :) My grandma had so many plants inside her house for the same reason, sadly my mom never did in our home. I can imagine how it would have helped us, specially living in a house like the one we lived. Sometimes the air inside the houses gets a bit murky too.

It's only lately that I knew about palm plants, that they are good in providing oxygen. It is particularly helpful when you are living in a crowded area like Metro Manila where there are no trees around. The palm plants, aside from giving oxygen also makes the soil fertile because of the nitrogen. And not to forget that it is a good home decoration which gives the living room a fresh look.

I already knew that a Snake plant and a Spider plant are both air purifying plants that is why we had this plants in every corner of our house. In my home country my mother had a lot of this plants in our garden. We had planted this plants in several pots for our outdoor and indoor use. And now even I am living here already in the country of my husband I really look for a Snake and Spider plant for my indoor plants at home when I arrived here. Anyway thanks for sharing the list of other air purifying indoor plants that I still don't have and I do hope I can find even one of them as an additional to my indoor plants.

I have number 2 in my house right now. I have in the past had several of the air cleaning plants, I hope to get a few more of the good plants to keep the air in the house good.
