Logan, milk bottles with the bottom removed are mini-greenhouses. I use clear plastic soda bottles (2 liter) and occasionally remove the cap to reduce condensation/humidity. Works great!
Upsy, I hope the appointment with your brother goes better than you think. There is only so much you can do, and stressing yourself won't help. I know it's hard, but try to stay positive and take care of yourself, too.
I weeded the peas, planted another long row of cucumbers, and watered the tomatoes and peppers. Of course, Timi the cat helped, so it took longer and was more difficult than usual. (No, Timi, the row I hoed for the cukes is NOT a huge kitty bathroom! Fortunately, she took me at my word.)

Very pretty front Logan, the amount of wallflowers around your garden must smell divine :)

I liking your fritillaria persica it lovely, I like the white ones as well, dunno if I can fit anymore bulbs in  I tend to chop them with the spade  cause I've got that many and I forget where I planted them .

Rained over night so a bit damp early morning, mostly dry day otherwise until 20mins ago, suddenly got windy now it lashing it down and it cold.

Evening All...:)
Beautiful plants @Logan and @alp...inspirational.

Last year all my fruit bushes were attacked and annihilated by Saw Fly Larvae...must keep a vigil this year

Here is one leaf all the other leaves were infested with the same amount of larvae, absolutely decimated the crop. I had to chop the whole plant down for the year and get rid of all the branches...
Worse than Locusts they were

P.S. I have the Pallets @alp :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO: The Bier Garten will soon be open for business

alp, why do you need a flat surface?

The bottles will fall sideway. There is a dip in the middle of my garden. If I want to insulate with milk bottles, I need them to stay put. The winds have been quite strong lately and my tall tree has fallen down time and again.

Today has been most productive. I had several half uncomposted materials left over in the compost bin. I topped it up with tons of compost and will grow some veg there tomorrow or more hellebores as I have tons of babies needing new home.

2 hours of solid work and I will have to go out to water more thirsty babies. This weather has been very unkind to plants. MaryMary - what have you been doing with your seedlings and all that now that you are still in cold weather?

My Cornus Cloud 9. One lone flower! Theoretically, I should have removed it as the energy should be on having roots, but I just want to see what it looks like.

Logan, I know you know that milk bottles, etc. can be mini-greenhouses. I mentioned their use in case some of our other members didn't know about using containers for greenhouses.
Your front garden is magnificent--must be the envy of the neighborhood!

BigC : You'd better watch out for these as well

Get ready for a caterpillar explosion: This year's warm spring means garden grubs are hatching too soon and there are no baby birds to feed on them

I am sure it would be worse where I live! Oh, dear! Not only the SS; now, I have caterpillars to contend with!
I would still call it a "Cloche" :p:LOL:

Quite right, a cloche no less!
