Putting a location or zone in profile/display area?

Is it possible to add locations or hardiness zones to user info so it's displayed next to posts?

ok now I feel silly because I see it on some people's profiles. I need to add this to mine!

Open up your user control panel by hovering the cursor over your name on the top bar, click on personal details, you'll see where to add your location at the bottom.

Once you've done it, click on your location under your name and it should bring up a map of your area

I've fixed the member map permission problem for you Zigs, it looks like I hadn't configured it properly for moderators, as we didn't have any when I first added it.

It really would help if the location was mandantory when one signs up.

I've just had a look on how we can improve the location field, as it's not shown at registration at the moment - however it doesn't look like the forum software can do this. I'll make a suggestion to the forum software guys so that it's at least an option on registration .
