Please help me identify fungi in garden beds

I live in pacific northwest. I left my garden beds open for the winter and found these black clumps all over it this Spring. My best guess is some kind of fungus but has not been able to identify what it is using Google image search. If you know what it is, please comment. Much appreciated!

They are either fungi or truffles but I wouldn't taste them in case they are poisonous. If they're truffles they're expensive to buy and worth asking a local chef to identify them.
