Im not a gardener in the definition of the word but I do like to have some flowers in my yard. My yard and flower beds where neglected some when the kids where young. Now that they are older and can help and “we” seem to have more time in the yard things are on the mend.
The Iris in my yard have been the exception. Always coming back year afyer year and blooming well.
This here is a Iris my Wife rescued from her grandmothers house after it was sold and flattened for a development.
(I have other rescue plants also)
These have been in my yard for 20 years and my wife remebers them as far back as her memory can go so about 70 years
She says she always loved them because of there great smell.
I think they smell like bubble gum
Most of our other Iris are just showing buds and not open yet.
On the other side I have this one Iris that never dies but does not always bloom and Im aftaid to move it.
