If anyone here is on a sizeable property with a large dam on it, do you have problems with water quality or bugs?

One of my friends recently introduced Duckweed to his dam, it grows like crazy and can cover the dam from only a very small quantity to start with, every few week or so, he scoops it off the surface and uses it in his Aquariums to feed his fish.

I am a VERY BIG FAN of duckweed and I have read a lot about it. 1 hectare of pond can produce 0.5-1.5 tons of fresh duckweed everyday. I read somewhere (Mirzapur experiment) that half hectare of duckweed pond can feed about 20,000 carps in a 1 hectare pond. In fact, my dream is to have a farm like that.
