Cuttings from a Cordyline?

This died during the winter by frost, or so I thought. Looked at it today and see that it has two new shoots sprouting. Tried to take some of the soil away to split the two shoots but not sure if both shoots come from the base. Can this be split into two individual plants and if so how do I do it?

Find the point where the little one connects to the big one and cut it there, if it has roots.
