I bought a couple of Yews back about 6 years ago. When I bought them they both had red berries on them. They are growing well. But I've never since then seen berries on them. Is this because I need a male? I don't remember where I got them. I was driving a truck at the time. So it could be anywhere. Never seen any for sell locally.

Welcome @Conan

The cause of that can be varied... e.g. Only female yews produce berries, and they require a male yew nearby for pollination. They need to mature several years before producing berries. Poor soil, poor lighting, extreme weather, pests, diseases etc. etc. all can be a potential cause.

Without a picture, it is a shot in the dark at best guessing the cause, and even then, may be problematic.
