Zone 6. I planted several yew bushes along the front of my porch early last fall. They did well in the fall but began to yellow over winter. They face the south and get full sun in the morning and part shade from maple tree in the evening. The soil drains well and they are not over watered (I have not watered them once this season although it has been a wet spring). I fertilized with evergreen fertilizer (vigaro 16-4-8) a few weeks ago with no change noted in color. There appears to be new growth at the tips but there is significant yellowing throughout each bush. Anyone have any idea what is going on? Photos included. Thank you in advance

Unfortunately die back like yours is not uncommon with these plants. Off the top of my head, I would say to give them some chelated iron.

Another member recommended this for my rugosa roses and your plants have a similar soil nutrient needs.

However I would wait a day or two for more comments because I'm not 100% sure about what I said, sorry

I would just remove the hardwood mulch because it's tieing up the nitrogen. Remove the mulch and use a hand cultivator and gently aerate the soil around the plants. Wood has to have nitrogen to break down the wood and when you put it on top of the soil it sucks up the nitrogen. Your plants need a little nitrogen only.
