I live in Zone 5; my Rise'n Shines were advertised as hardy to Zone 4. I intend to winter them over outside. My question is whether or not to cut them back? They have done extremely well where they are located and are sizeable. I just removed the spent blooms so the flowers don't look impressive. They are 1 year old. I plan to feed and water them when we get a killing frost this month and mulch them as well. I'm a bit concerned about pruning though.

I have some individual burlap bags to cover them over, they are small and will require cutting back. I also have rolls of burlap to throw over them for the winter. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks

I wouldn't feed them until the next growing season. I'd just cut the flowers off and wait until next spring to prune them.
