Bumblebees on Phacelia Tanacetifolia

Gathering the purple pollen on the hind leg pollen baskets

Some bees have yellow pollen from other flowers they've just come from

The purple pollen will be added on top of the yellow

The next photo shows some mites on the back of a bee's neck where they can't be easily removed by the bee.

Some mites are harmless and some may even act as cleaners

A bee with it's mouth parts extended as it approaches a flower.

It also has a mite on it's side

The next three images seem to show what I assume could be purple pollen or some other element of the flowers on the bee's extended mouth parts.

Specifically on the front of the galeae.

Female Gasteruption Jaculator, Parasitic Ichneumon Wasp.
Uses it's extra long ovipositor to push through the soil barrier of solitary bee or wasp nest entrances to lay it's eggs on the body of their larvae. Upon hatching, its larvae will devour grubs and its victim's supplies of pollen and nectar.

Aglais io, European Peacock, or Peacock Butterfly
Showing the dorsal side in the following images with it's primary defense measure of the eye spot markings that mimic ground predators with the effect of deterring birds that prey on the butterfly such as the blue tit.
It also makes a hissing sound but this is more effective at deterring rodents while on the ground where a darker environment limits the effectiveness of the eye spots.
It can also use it's ventral side to mimic leaves.
