Why can't I grow cucumbers and zucchini anymore?

I used to grow cucumbers and zucchini in my vegetable garden every year!
I haven't been able to grow them successfully for the last few years!
I plant them in large pots (have done so for a long time) and at first they seem to grow fine, but then the plant turns yellow and the fruits rot before reaching maturity....any suggestions for next year?

Sounds to me like your zukes and cukes have been getting too much water and the roots are rotting.

I'm in zone 5! I haven't changed anything from when I was able to grow these veggies and now.

Yes I do, I get my soil from a nearby nursery!
"zukes and cukes" I love it!

If it's not a soil deficiency then i'd suspect Cucumber mosaic virus

Its spread by apids, so you'll need to control them.
