Who had issues with Cuke Beetles this year?

Last year I grew a couple cucumber plants with zero issues. This year I wasn't able to grow a single plant. The cucumber beetles are absolutely overwhelming. I tried to grow one in a 5 gallon bucket on my deck away from the garden and it was hopeful till I saw a beetle on the leaf and next thing I know it looked awful.

I have tried neem oil spray but I don't think that has had any effect. I am currently researching a fix for next year but seeing as many as I have makes me not very hopeful.

Anyone else having issues?
